It did not work. I set it to Wine; version: Latest. It downloaded a bunch of stuff, copied stuff, and eventually settled down, and looked just like the launcher normally does. I tried to start a session. The little white triangle by the name of one of my accounts turned into a square when I clicked on it, just like normal. Nothing further happened for abut a minute. Then the square turned back to a triangle. No session of Eve started. I switched it back to Cider, and the session did start when I wanted it to. I tried Wine again, and it still failed.
In the above, whenever it failed, I would close and re-open the launcher, and try a second time. The fails were always fails.
BTW, I hope this works out, and thanks for working on it. Those using Wine seem to like it, so I am looking forward to being able to dump Cider forever and ever.

As it did not work for me, I'm wondering if I am missing something. Does telling the launcher to use Wine result in it downloading EVERYTHING needed to run Eve under Wine, including Wine, like it does for Cider? Or do I need to go to the Wine website and download other stuff as well?

You mean evelogs.log? Where should I send it?

Probably /Library/Application Support/CCP/EVE/Launcher, or something like that. Put them in a Dropbox or Google Drive and send me the link in EVE mail - don't post it here, the logs may have more detail than you're comfortable with posting publically.
I don't have those set up, I'll go do that. In the meantime, here are the last few lines of a launcherlog:

I can live without them, but if at all possible - those would be nice. Still totally worth it. + addtional plus - IGB does not get stuck on the black screen. At least it has not for me. Do the PC versions work, where you use control instead of command?

The new launcher works fine with Cider, but when i switch it to Wine, it copies files, then says its ready, but will not start the game. When I click to play, the play symbol next to my name turns to a square, my name turns green along with the line under it. It then just sits there for about 45 seconds, then changes back to normal as if I never clicked anything. Did you re-start the launcher? This was listed as a known issue on the first post in this thread. I did so after the wine files were copied and it started right up. It's a known issue, but not a solved one. Rebooting the client/launcher/computer does nothing to solve it. He is the first one to report having it with 10.11. CCP Snorlax has been able to reproduce the issue, and is working on it. (We have been eve mailing each other). Just now I noted Wine 1.8 showed up in the list in the preferences, three versions (two in the Dev version list). I tried them all. None worked for me.

Now that its working for me, Here are some issues Ive found.
Command Q does not quit the game. Instead, it tries to quit XQuartz. Control Q does nothing.
In the market interface, the price history plot has no scale values shown.
I'm using a MacBook Pro, with a trackpad. When I do a two finger scroll on my hangar window, the window jumps to the contents of the ship hangar, or the contents of a station container. To see this, put many items in your hangar, so a scroll is needed to navigate them all.

Just think and try to train yourself for now that EVE is Native Windows and only window hotkey work. Except control Q does nothing. There is no hot key, not even a windows native hot key, to quit the client. Edit: I found I could change the shortcut for quit so control Q quits the current client without quitting Xquartz.

And as a result, it now no longer works for me. No XQuartz, but no client either. If I set it to Wine 1.8.1, it does work for me, and does run XQuartz.

Can you try the Wine versions available when you check Use dev versions under the Wine settings? That took awhile. Change wine preference, close launcher, open launcher, let files be updated, try to run it, wait for it to not work, close launcher, open launcher, try and run it again, wait for it to not work, change wine preferences. Repeat.
And none of them worked. The only one that works is the non-Dev 1.8.1 - test. Even that one has issues. It creates a window that is half off my screen. I cannot see the right half. Fortunately, I can get to the esc menu and change the window to full screen, then back to fix it.

The only bug I could detect is that the market history graph's axes are no longer labeled. The graph is there alright, but you can't make heads an tails out of it without those labels. Yes, it's a known issue - it's on the top of my list. CCP Snorlax, is this still at the top of your list? I'm still missing the labels.

And wanna know if you need any testers for updated wine versions I've been on vacation, just got back to work yesterday, hence my radio silence. With my batteries fully charged I'm now investigating the sticky control key issue. Its not just the control key. The shift key sticks too. It happens to me every time I loot the can in the shipyard site (the Serpentis event site). 100% reproducible. I select the can, click the open icon, click the loot button. Tapping shift will fix it.

This most likely has been asked and answered, but...15 pages..... Every time I start up eve I get asked if I want to allow wineserver to connect. How do I stop those requests?
In System Preferences, Security and Privacy, Firewall, I have wineserver listed as "allow incoming connections". What else is needed?
Oh, And CCP Snorlax, are we going to get command-click mapped to secondary click? I tend to fumble finger the double-tap sufficiently often that having command-click mapped to secondary click would be quite helpful.

I'll amend my first statement: It does not happen every time. But it happens alot. Maybe it happens when something in wineserver changes?
